The Massachusetts Department of Public Health has identified an increased risk of eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) in humans in certain parts of the state, including Bristol and Plymouth counties. As a result, aerial spraying of pesticides in areas known to harbor mosquitoes carrying the EEE virus will be conducted this month.

Individuals, particularly those living in high risk areas, should take precautions to protect themselves.
