Managing diabetes as soon as possible after diagnosis can help prevent serious health problems. This National Diabetes Month, talk with your health care provider about making a diabetes self-care plan.
Self-management education is an essential component of diabetes treatment. Manet offers a Diabetes Self-Management Education Program that is accredited by the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (ADCES). The program helps participants understand the disease process, blood sugar monitoring, goal setting, and problem solving, and how to prevent complications, as well as the role of medications, nutrition, physical activity and stress management. The program is open to Manet patients, as well as non-patients with a referral, who have diabetes or prediabetes.
