Marissa Abdow, LICSW

Marissa Abdow, a licensed independent clinical social worker, has joined Manet’s Behavioral Health Services team, serving patients in Taunton and Attleboro.

Her interest in the social work began at age 16, when she was as a Volunteer Friendly Visitor. It was through this experience, visiting with elderly homebound residents to decrease isolation and provide companionship, that Marissa solidified her passion for working and serving others.

She went on to earn a BA in psychology from UMass Dartmouth and an MSW from the University of New England. She holds a LICSW license in Massachusetts and Rhode Island and received certification in Integrated Behavioral Healthcare through UMass Medical School in 2021.

Marissa has experience with home, residential and acute medical care as well as geriatric psychiatry and community-based services, and she specializes in short-term counseling techniques. Prior to joining Manet, she worked at a community health center in RI and was Clinical Director of Adult Community Clinical Services at Community Counseling of Bristol County.

“I chose to work at Manet after witnessing firsthand the compassionate, comprehensive, and respectful medical care provided to clients,” she explains. “Manet has a wonderful and well-deserved reputation of holistic and patient-centered care. I am grateful to a be a member of this organization and for the opportunity to provide behavioral health services and support to Manet’s patient population.”

Abigail Benson, MS, RD, CSSD, LD

Abigail “Abbie” Benson is Manet Community Health Center’s newest Dietitian. After studying Nutrition at Pennsylvania State University, where she also competed in Cross Country and Track, Abbie completed her Dietetic Internship and Master’s Degree at the University of Buffalo in her hometown of Buffalo, NY.

Abbie is a Certified Sports Dietitian and before coming to Manet, she worked at the University of Oklahoma, University of Tennessee, and most recently University of Florida, working primarily with the track and field population and helping athletes develop healthy eating habits to enhance performance and overcome disordered eating.

Abbie likes mountain biking and is a huge fan of the Buffalo Bills. She says her goal in working at Manet is “to be more involved in my community and educate individuals to…have a healthy relationship with food.” We are are very happy to help her achieve that mission!
