Attleboro, MA (July 15, 2021) – Manet Community Health Center (Manet) has announced it will open a satellite health center in downtown Attleboro, at 8 North Main Street, on July 19.

“Manet comes to Attleboro after a significant and contemplative process that began in January of 2019,” explains Manet’s CEO Cynthia Sierra. “As we began laying the groundwork for the new site and initiating relationships with local community leaders and partners, we found that the need for accessible, quality health care was evident and that Attleboro was ready to embrace a Community Health Center. We are exceptionally happy to be here and look forward to serving this community.”

The site will offer primary care for all ages, provided by family nurse practitioners Charlette Hines, FNP-C, and Rachide Poteau, FNP-C. Manet’s Deputy Medical Director William Brandon, MD, MPH, MHA, who also serves as the Lead Provider for Manet’s Taunton location, will provide administrative oversight and medical supervision. In addition to primary care, the site will provide integrated mental health and substance counseling services, as well as nutrition therapy, chronic disease care management, access to specialists, preventive health screenings, health insurance navigation and COVID-19 testing and vaccination services. Manet, Attleboro will initially be open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the expectation that hours of operation will expand with new patient demand.

Manet is an independent federally qualified health center (FQHC) that serves patients from across the South Shore and southeastern Massachusetts at five primary care locations in Quincy, Hull and Taunton. The Taunton location opened in 2014 and is now Manet’s second busiest site. Manet also opened a Community Outreach and Prevention Services office in Quincy in 2020. As an FQHC, Manet is governed by a patient-majority board of directors and serves all patients who need care, regardless of financial circumstance or health insurance coverage status.

Manet’s new Attleboro site will help to address the need for primary care and behavioral health services in the area and, with the delivery of prevention education and screening, help to improve health outcomes for local residents. To this end, Manet will link patients to other local services to ensure they can access the services they need most. Manet is a clinical affiliate of Boston Medical Center Health System and has relationships with other Attleboro health care providers, such as Sturdy Memorial Hospital. Its 8 North Main Street location is easy to reach by public transportation and close to public housing as well as other community organizations, agencies and services. Early in 2022, Manet will expand the health center space within 8 North Main Street to accommodate additional patients and to expand access.

“We are extremely grateful for the support that Manet has received from our congressional leaders, as well our local community partners, which has made opening this site possible,” says Sierra. “We are eager to serve and our team is ready to welcome patients to our beautiful new space beginning the week of July 19.”
