As colder weather and snow approach, Manet Community Health wants to help you and your family stay safe and prepared this winter. Below are resources for emergency alerts, power outages, shelter and utilities assistance, and more.
If you’re coming to Manet for an appointment during winter weather, please check our website or social media (Facebook, Instagram, X), or call us for updates on closures or late openings.
Emergency Alerts
The National Weather Service issues weather watches and warnings. Learn the difference and know how to stay safe. The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) recommends having multiple ways to receive emergency alerts, including at least one with an audible alert that can wake you overnight. Read more about emergency alerts here.
Receiving emergency alerts:
- Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA): Automatic alerts sent to cell phones. Most newer phones are already enabled. Check your phone settings (Apple | Android) or contact your mobile carrier.
- Emergency Alert System (EAS): Alerts via TV, radio, and satellite. Keep a battery-powered radio or TV available during power outages.
- Social media: Follow MEMA on X and Facebook for updates.
- Local Alerts: Sign up for weather and emergency alerts in your community (Attleboro, Hull, Quincy, Taunton.)
Power Outages
MEMA, National Grid, and Eversource provide maps and alerts to track power outages in your area.
