Dr. Justin Yang, director of Manet’s Urgent Care Center, gives a thumbs-up while getting his COVID-19 vaccination today at Boston Medical Center.

Dr. Yang was part of the BMC/Pfizer COVID vaccine trial, but he received the placebo (saline injection). As a study participant, he was able to received his (real) COVID vaccine today.

“Words can’t really describe the emotions when he injected that needle into my arm — excitement, plus joy, plus hopefulness for the future,” he shared. “Honestly, I was so happy and full of hope to see an end to this seemingly endless pandemic, I didn’t even feel the needle go in. During the injection, it did burn a little, but nothing more than your typical flu vaccine.”

Though it may take some time until the vaccine is widely available, Dr. Yang urges people to take advantage of it when the time comes.
