Nalaya Shand, MSW is a trauma-focused clinician currently seeing patients at our North Quincy location. Nicole first joined Manet as a social work intern in September 2023 and now as a Masters Level Clinician who works with patients of all ages with a variety of mental health needs.
An area of focus for Nalaya is working with pediatric patients to build coping skills and process stressful situations and in the future, she hopes to work with terminally ill children and their families.
Nalaya earned her Master of Science Degree in Social Work at Simmons University in Boston. Before coming to Manet Nalaya worked as a Self-Sufficiency Coordinator for the Boston Housing Authority, a Clinical Recovery Specialist at Volunteers of America. She has diverse experience in social work, having worked with patients with substance use disorders and mental health issues as well as working in housing and school settings.
Nalaya chose to become a social worker because she saw the impact that social workers had on her community. In her own words she chose Manet because of “the focus on the whole person. Many of my clients need services in many areas and being able to access most of them at Manet has been tremendously helpful.”
