POSITION TITLE: Staff Accountant
REPORTS TO: Controller

Organizational Overview:
Manet Community Health Center is a federally qualified community health center that is fully licensed by the Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. Manet serves all patients regardless of their ability to pay or health insurance status and is especially committed to providing services for the medically underserved and ensuring that patients have access to the highest quality patient care. Manet has six locations, three in Quincy, one in Hull, one in Taunton and one in Attleboro, Massachusetts.

General Definition and Scope of Job
Reporting to the Controller the Staff Accountant will play an integral role in the Finance team, including back-up for payroll. She/he will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger in accordance with generally acceptable accounting principles and ensuring adequate internal controls are in place for complete and accurate financial reporting.

Core Responsibilities
1. Responsible for day-to-day general ledger activities and month end processes;
2. Prepare Bank and other Balance Sheet account reconciliations;
3. Responsible for month-end reporting of statistics and other pertinent financial data;
4. Assist in the annual budget and load into General Ledger system;
5. Acts as a resource for financial information to management;
6. Become proficient with all aspects of reporting within the systems currently used in the Finance Department;
7. Provides financial information for regulatory and informational reports as requested;
8. Assist in the development of financial projections as required, that support and assist Manet’s decision making;
9. Responsible for providing back up assistance with bi-weekly payroll accurately using Paycom to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.
10. Record cash receipts in a timely manner.
11. Maintain Daily Cash excel spreadsheet.
12. Post cash transactions to the General Ledger, ensuring coding is correct.
13. Assist in assembling information for the annual independent audit
14. Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Skills, Experience and Educational Requirements
1. Minimum two years of experience preferably in health care accounting;
2. Four year college degree with major in Accounting required;
3. Knowledge and experience in reimbursement, auditing, budgeting, financial analysis and management information system a plus;
4. Ability to work independently but able to work collaboratively with a team;
5. Advanced Excel skills and ability to rapidly learn new general ledger software;
6. Highly organized and systematic skills with excellent attention to detail required; and
7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.

Required Availability
May be required to work a rotating schedule as the department requires. This includes evenings, holidays and weekends.
