Ashley Amaral, LICSW, joined the Manet Team in May of 2024 and sees patients at our school-based health center, Manet at Taunton Public Schools. She has experience in crisis intervention, clinical social work, and treatment planning.  Ashley has worked in a variety of settings including healthcare centers, emergency departments, and has clinical experience with patients of all ages.

Ashley has her Master’s of Social Work from Rhode Island College. She also received her bachelor’s degree in social work from Rhode Island College. She pursued this career path because she feels that social workers “are instrumental in making a difference in the world and in advocating for those who can’t always advocate for themselves.”

I chose the field of social work to help empower people to improve their quality of life by learning to cope and navigate challenges,” she says. She believes that children and adolescents should have access to not only quality healthcare, but structured activities, community service opportunities and other civic participation because it is important for young people to feel connected and motivated in order to succeed in school .

She is excited to join our Taunton school-based team to provide comprehensive care the children and help them create connections with trusted adults. This, she says, “creates a safe space where providers can help students gain the confidence and skills they need to maximize their learning, successfully navigate school, and understand that they have what it takes to reach their full potential.”
