When someone is doing something well, you should tell them...
Often, it’s the little things that matter the most. That’s what Jim Sperguiro found when he and his wife were looking for a new doctor over a dozen years ago and, at the recommendation of a friend, found themselves at Manet Community Health Center’s Hull practice site.
“My wife and I came in to meet the doctor and staff to see if it would be a good fit for us,” recalls the 69-year-old retired communications industry professional. “It was a couple of days before Halloween and Dr. Sabir was dressed as a witch, which we thought was great, and then we met the rest of the staff and they were wonderful, too. They made us feel comfortable. There was no strain. The waiting time was minimal. They’ve been taking care of us for a long time now and we couldn’t be happier.”
Richard C. has endured a lot of struggles in his 33 years, starting in childhood with an unstable upbringing in the foster care system and continuing into adulthood with stints of homelessness and an addiction to opiates. Yet, Richard’s story is one of resilience and hope, and with the support of his care team at Manet's practice site in Taunton, he now has a chance at making a better life for himself and his two children.
Elvira Pinjic Joins Manet as Senior Director of Operations
Manet Community Health Center (Manet) today announced the arrival of Elvira Pinjic as Senior Director of Operations. In this role she will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational functions of the health center and for providing strategic operational direction to future improve the patient experience within Manet’s practice locations in Quincy, Hull and Taunton.
“We could not be more delighted to welcome Elvira to Manet as a principal member of our leadership team,” says Cynthia Sierra, Chief Executive Officer. “She’s been described by her colleagues as ‘the utmost professional -- diligent, hard-working, hands-on and dedicated.’ She has a clear and proven ability to improve efficiency by developing, analyzing and implementing new procedures, and we are fortunate to have the benefit of her impressive and extensive operational expertise.”
At Manet, Pinjic will direct and supervise both front and back end aspects of primary and integrated care practice operations. Additionally, she will provide operational partnership, guidance and expertise to Manet’s Quality Program.
Prior to her role at Manet, Pinjic served as the administrator of Atrius—Harvard Vanguard Medical Center, Cambridge, managing service lines and departmental operations. She also served as operations manager for the Patient Access Services Department at Lahey Hospital and as site manager at North Shore Physicians Group.
“We are truly appreciative of our health center principals and the Operations Transition team of Lisa Levine, Sr. Director of Accountable Care, Veda Roosa, Director of Revenue Cycle and Lisa Lee, Director of Information Technology, who cooperatively, collegially and deftly managed the collective operations teams to ensure our operational excellence while we thoughtfully searched for our new leader,” added Sierra.
Pinjic will be headquartered at Manet’s North Quincy site at 110 West Squantum Street, but will spread office hours and oversee operations at all Manet locations.

The CDC classified 2017-2018 a high severity season with high levels of outpatient clinic and emergency department visits for influenza-like illness, high influenza-related hospitalization rates, and widespread influenza activity across the United States for an extended period. While itís not possible to predict how severe the upcoming season will be, we know that the best way to prevent flu and its potentially serious complications is a flu vaccine.
