Six doctors including; Dr. William Brandon, Dr. Irene Belsky, Dr. Martha Karchere, Dr. Jennifer Sabir, Dr. Robert Shiner and Dr. Lily Yung were also given Blue Ribbon Status, which goes to Tuft’s top 25 percentile for doctors on quality and efficiency.
“I am extremely proud of our staff for this acknowledgement” said Henry Tuttle, Manet’s Chief Executive Officer. “Quality and efficiency are two things that we continually strive for in our effort to provide quality, accessible health care for all.” Chief Medical Officer and Blue Ribbon Awardee had this to say about Manet’s recognition “It is an honor and a privilege to be able to work in such a dedicated and caring organization. Our staff never waiver in their commitment to provide the best care possible to the patients and the community and this recognition shows that.”
According to a 2000 report from The Managed Care Information Center, the average IPA includes approximately 460 physicians. Other findings of interest from the report are that over 87 percent of the IPAs are owned entirely by physicians; IPAs offer 17 types of specialty physician services with pediatrics being the most frequently offered specialty; and, approximately 60 percent of the IPAs are for-profit entities. Manet Community Health Center however, is a non-profit community-based organization dedicated to providing access to primary care at five sites across the South Shore.
