Diabetes Education Program:

Manet Community Health Center diabetes self-management education program has been awarded Recognition from the American Diabetes Association (ADA). ADA Recognition is a voluntary process which assures that the approved patient education program has met the national standards set by the ADA. Also, Recognition assures the consumer that the health professionals teaching the program provide the most up to date information about diabetes management.

Self-management education is an essential component of diabetes treatment. Manet’s program teaches self-care skills that promote better day to day management and help to reduce acute and chronic complications and hospitalizations.

The education program covers topics such as diabetes disease process, nutrition, physical activity, medications, blood sugar monitoring, preventing, detecting and treating complications, goal setting and problem solving and stress management.
